Join the Decatur Fine Arts Academy for a collaborative recital exploring the saxophone’s evolving role in chamber music. Saxophonist Julien Berger showcases how composers have featured the instrument in different styles and in collaboration with a variety of instruments. He is joined by DFAA faculty members as well as guest saxophonists from the greater Atlanta area.

Casey and Julien will be performing excerpts from Lori Laitman’s I Never Saw Another Butterfly.

Join the Decatur Fine Arts Academy on Sunday, June 1 at 2:00 pm for a solo recital by soprano and DFAA voice instructor Casey Margerum! Casey will present a variety of works by composers from around the world. Featured composers include: Cécile Chaminade, Carlos Gustavino, Maria Grever, Hideo Kobayashi, Tatsunosuke Koshitani, Undine Smith Moore, Carolina Uccelli, and Heitor Villa-Lobos. Casey will also be premiering a piece by Robert Cushing from his musical, Laura. She is joined at the piano by DFAA Co-Director Robert Cushing.

Admission is free, and donations to support DFAA's mission are appreciated. This concert will be in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Decatur (308 Clairemont Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030).

Clayton State University’s Music Drama Workshop presents Eve’s Odds by Bruce Trinksley.

This one-act musical midrash is based on the book of Genesis0 Set in the Garden of Eden at the beginning of time, this musical comedy explores a certain famous event from Eve’s point of view. Casey joins CSU as a Guest Artist, stepping into the role of the Guardian Angel.
